Island Free Library Services
Computers:
We have 10 computers available for adults that offer internet access, word
processing, printing, scanning and various other software programs. There is a
1/2 hour time limit on these computers when others are waiting. We have 6 computers available for
children that offer internet access, word processing, and preloaded software.
There is a 1/2 hour time limit on these computers when others are waiting as
well. To use these computers you
must have a current Ocean State Libraries card and sign into the computer with
your barcode number. The charge for printing from any computer is .25 per page, our paper or yours. Paper can be obtained at the front desk if needed.
We also have two public access computers with printing capability that can be
used for a quick internet search without a library card.
Copy Machine:
We have a black and white copier and a color copier that can enlarge and reduce and can make up to
“11 x 17” copies. Charges for black and white copies are .20 per letter or legal and .30 per
“11x 17” or double sided. Charges for color copies are $1 per
letter and $1.75 per "11x17".
Fax Machine:
We can fax documents nationally. Price is determined by destination
and length.
Equipment Available For Borrowing:
Polaroid camera ($1.50 per photo), digital camera, VCR, DVD player,
micro-cassette transcriber, Walkman, slide projector and screen, PlayStation II,
portable CD player, and a portable MP3-CD player.
Meeting Rooms:
We have two rooms available for meetings. Meeting Room A will accommodate 36
people and Meeting Room B will accommodate 49 people; both rooms are equipped with tables and chairs. We also offer the use of an overhead projector, digital projector, slide projector, screens, presentation easel, podium, etc. Please contact the library about application forms for meeting room use and policy.
IFL Theater:
On premises we offer the use of a large screen TV, VCR, and DVD player. An
Ocean State Libraries card is necessary. We ask that you sign up at the front desk.
Laptop Access:
We have areas set up for laptop users on the lower and upper levels. Your laptop must have a network card (NIC) in your computer and must be setup to obtain an IP address automatically. Be sure to bring your patch cables or category 5 cables. We also have wireless access for those with WiFi compatible laptops.
